MULTIFOCAL IOLS

Today's revolutionary multifocal lenses are designed to correct a range of vision, near through distance, to provide a glasses-free lifestyle

Traditional monofocal lenses provide corrective power in only one segment of your visual range (typically distance vision).

Multifocal IOLs

Thanks to today’s technology breakthroughs, there are more kinds of intraocular lenses to choose from than ever before.

Multifocal Intraocular Implantable Lenses (IOLs)

These new, improved intraocular lenses allow patients the opportunity to achieve total freedom from glasses. Unlike traditional monofocal lenses, the revolutionary multifocal lens creates multiple focal points along the retina to dramatically improve vision. Using advanced technologies that enhance the implant’s ability to bend light so that an image is focused precisely along various points on the retina, multifocal lenses provide sharp, clear vision, near, mid-range and far. In the clinical study, 8 out of 10 patients receiving multifocal lenses reported they did not need to wear glasses or bifocals.

Traditional Monofocal Intraocular Implantable Lenses (IOLs)

Lens implant surgery for cataracts is the most commonly performed surgery in the US and has been performed successfully for more than two decades. The lenses implanted during this procedure do a great job of facilitating sight at a fixed distance. However, most patients find they still need reading glasses or bifocals for clear vision at all ranges, which is why so many opt for the newer, more advanced multifocal lenses.

TORIC Intraocular Implantable Lenses (for Patients with Astigmatism)

Advanced technology TORIC lenses have a biconvex optic shaped to provide both spherical and astigmatic correction for patients with corneal astigmatism. Benefits are similar to regular IOLs.

Blue Light-Filtering Multifocal Intraocular Implantable Lenses (IOLs)

Today, both multifocal and standard IOLs are available with blue light-filtering chromophore technology. This unique feature filters out potentially harmful blue light (UV) in a manner approximating your own natural crystalline lens. The advanced lens is beneficial because it protects the delicate inner nerve fiber layers at the back of the eye without interfering with color vision or visual acuity.
